Posted: 17 Feb 2014 12:42 PM PST This is my personal chicken curry. I call it personal, because, I developed the method to cook it on my own, and use a combination of my own spice blend. you can use a dutch oven or a pan with high sides, and lid. -- posted by Chef Hamturo |
Posted: 17 Feb 2014 12:44 PM PST My favorite squash recipe. Pretty easy, and soooo tasty. Prep time says one hour because you need to bake the squash before putting it in the soup. I made this vegetarian version based on another version that had chicken stock and cream cheese. -- posted by Super Wifey |
Light "Fried" Drumsticks - 2-Qt. Pressure Cooker Posted: 17 Feb 2014 12:57 PM PST Entered for safe-keeping, when cooking for one or two, from Kuhn Rikon "Quick Cuisine" cookbook. Recipe was developed for the Kuhn-Rikon 2-L pressure frypan. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 1/4 cup oil. For a change of pace, lightly rub mustard on chicken before coating with flour or bread crumbs. -- posted by KateL |
Grilled Vietnamese Style Chicken Wings Posted: 17 Feb 2014 01:36 PM PST I tried making these wings for a party, everyone loved them! Don't let the smell of the fish sauce scare you, the flavor is wonderful when cooked. I found that the longer you marinate the chicken in the sauce before cooking, the better. I let mine sit in the fridge overnight for at least 8 hours before cooking. Have used this recipy many times over. If you don't have fresh lemongrass, can substitute dry lemongrass, found that works just as well -- posted by tshull777 |
Chicken Friand (Tourte Au Poulet Et Champignons) Posted: 17 Feb 2014 02:09 PM PST My husband and I went to La Madelene's the other day and he ordered the chicken friand. It was so yummy that we decided to make it at home the following week. *** WOW! *** It turned out WAY better than the restaurant's. Adjust seasonings and addition of wine to taste. (for example, tarragon would be soooo good.) We served with roasted asparagus & artichokes with browned butter, wine and lemon dressing, will post recipe soon. -- posted by GirlyJu |
Caramelized Sweet Potatoes and Peaches Posted: 17 Feb 2014 02:12 PM PST This is a Daphne Oz recipe. She likes to serve it alongside her Chile Jam Chicken, which I have posted as a separate recipe. Delicious side dish! Note: this serves two, but you can easily increase the amounts. -- posted by LifeIsGood |
Crockpot TexMex Chicken Thighs Posted: 17 Feb 2014 02:14 PM PST Something different for the chicken. I scrape the seeds out of the jalapenos for a mild but flavorful result. You can adjust the hotness by removing the seeds from both, only one, or leave them all in for full heat. -- posted by Mike_in_Houston |
Crockpot Quinoa, Chicken, and Kale Soup Posted: 17 Feb 2014 02:47 PM PST Delicious and nutritious! Found this on Pinterest, edited for my preferences. Quinoa makes it hearty and filling. The chicken was soooo tender, it just fell apart! I never used kale before but couldn't really taste it in this- I don't like cooked spinach in soup but I did like the kale! Could be topped with shredded parmesan cheese. Also, I like to freeze some of the leftovers in serving size ziploc bags. -- posted by J-Lynn |
Tyler Forence's-Extra Crispy Fried Chicken Posted: 17 Feb 2014 02:59 PM PST This is out of the March 2014 Food and Wine magazine...I adjusted the serving amount...it said it served 6-8...I think with 20 pieces of chicken a 10 person serving is enough...plus the calories look better...=) -- posted by TeresaS |
Broiled Asparagus and Artichokes With White Wine Brown Butter Posted: 17 Feb 2014 03:02 PM PST Made this and served with Chicken Friand. Delish! Tart and buttery... Bon Apetit! -- posted by GirlyJu |
Posted: 17 Feb 2014 03:02 PM PST An easy and delicious chicken recipe. The chile jam adds spice and sweetness to the chicken. This recipe comes from Daphne Oz. She serves it with caramelized sweet potatoes and peaches. I will post that recipe, too. It's a great combination, but I love the chicken recipe alone, too! This recipe serves two (2 thighs per person),but you can easily increase the amounts. -- posted by LifeIsGood |
